  1. 1 - Abrasive Strip:To create a smooth cable surface prior to tape applications
  2. 1 - Solvent Wet Wipe Pack:To clean the cable surface prior to tape applications
  3. 1 - Re3TM -1 Primary Rubber Repair Tape:Primary repair tape
  4. 1 - Re3TM -2 Protective Vinyl Finishing Tape (1.5" width):Protective finishing tape

Applications and Features:

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Clean suspect area using the Solvent Wet Wipe Pack, wipe dry, remove any protruding sharp edges from the damaged area and then use the Abrasive Strip to smooth suspect surface
  2. For THHN/THWN-2, remove 4" of the outer SIMpull® Nylon from both sides of the damage.
  3. Remove 3" of the insulation from both sides of the damaged area.
  4. Apply 1 half-lapped layer of Southwire’s Re3TM -1 tape extending 6" on both sides of the damaged area. You can start on one side by stretching the tape slightly while applying helically to cover 6" past the damaged area.
  5. Apply 2 half-lapped layers of Southwire’s Re3TM -2 tape to cover the first tape and overlap it on the jacketed cable.
